Quick answer: Mandarin Essential Oil is a cold pressed oil from the peel of Citrus reticulata fruit, with a sweet, tangy and fresh citrus aroma. It is used in diffusers, diluted body and massage oils, soaps, candles, room sprays and perfumery. It suits home users, makers and bulk buyers, with a two year shelf life and COA and MSDS available on request. It comes in 100 ml and 500 ml bottles for home use and 1 kg to 25 kg packs for brands and bulk buyers.
Mandarin Essential Oil is the aromatic oil obtained by cold pressing the peel of ripe mandarin fruit. RV Organica’s Mandarin Essential Oil is an Indian-origin, thin liquid with a characteristic sweet and tangy citrus scent, packed at our facility in Nimbri, Panipat, Haryana, and offered in sizes from 100 ml to 25 kg.
Mandarin essential oil comes from the peel of Citrus reticulata, the fruit also sold as mandarin orange. Unlike most essential oils, citrus oils are not steam distilled. The peel is mechanically pressed so that the oil sacs break open and release the oil, which is then separated from the juice and water. Because no heat is involved, the finished oil keeps the fresh, juicy character of the fruit.
Its aroma comes mainly from d-limonene at 65 to 75 percent and γ-terpinene at 15 to 22 percent, with smaller amounts of α-pinene, linalool and methyl N-methylanthranilate. That last compound is what gives mandarin its soft, sweet, slightly floral edge and sets it apart from sharper citrus oils. ISO 3528:2012 describes quality characteristics for the Italian type of mandarin oil, and the COA for your batch is the document to read against it.
Mandarin smells sweet, juicy and gently tangy, like fresh mandarin peel just after it is broken. It is rounder and softer than lemon or grapefruit, with a light floral warmth underneath. That balance makes it easy to like and easy to blend. It lifts heavier florals, woods and resins without turning the blend sharp.
Add a few drops to a diffuser for a bright, cheerful and clean-smelling room. It works well in living rooms, kitchens, children’s play areas and workspaces, and it freshens stale air quickly. Citrus notes fade faster than woody or resinous ones, so top up the diffuser if you want the scent to last through the day. For a calming evening mix, blend it with lavender essential oil or clary sage essential oil. Our diffuser oils collection has more ideas for pairing.
Always dilute mandarin oil before it touches the skin. It dissolves in alcohol and fixed oils but not in water, so mix it into a carrier oil first. The right ratio depends on how much you are making and where it will be used, and our essential oil dilution calculator works it out for you. Once diluted, it adds a sweet citrus note to body oils, lotions, massage blends and bath products. Like most cold pressed citrus oils, it can make skin more sensitive to sunlight, so avoid direct sun on skin where it has been applied.
Yes. Makers choose mandarin for its sweet, approachable citrus note. In soap and body care bases, add it at the level your formulation recommends. In candles, test a small batch first, because citrus scents are light and scent throw changes with wax type and wick size. In room sprays and linen mists it gives a clean, cheerful freshness. In perfumery it works as a top note that opens a blend with sweetness and sparkle, and it pairs well with ylang ylang, geranium, frankincense, bergamot, neroli and grapefruit. Browse our citrus oils to build a wider citrus accord.
The botanical name is Citrus reticulata, the CAS number is 8008-31-9 and the FEMA number is 2657. The oil has a relative density of 0.852 at 25°C, a refractive index of 1.474, a flash point above 38°C, an acid value of up to 1.0 mg KOH/g and moisture content of up to 0.3 percent. Its odour is sweet, tangy and freshly citrusy. The shelf life is two years, and the oil is soluble in alcohol and fixed oils and insoluble in water.
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight. Citrus oils oxidise faster than most other essential oils, so close the cap straight after each use and avoid leaving the bottle half empty for long periods. Stored well, the oil keeps its quality for the full two year shelf life.
Mandarin essential oil is for external use only. Do not ingest it. Always dilute it in a carrier oil before applying it to the skin, do a patch test first, and avoid direct sunlight on treated skin. Keep it away from children and pets, and consult a doctor before use if you are pregnant or nursing. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Yes. The oil is available in 100 ml, 500 ml, 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg and 25 kg packs, which suits home users, small makers and manufacturers. COA and MSDS can be requested for each batch. For wholesale or private label enquiries, write to info@rvorganica.com.
RV Organica sells Mandarin Essential Oil in 100 ml and 500 ml bottles for home users and small makers, and in 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg and 25 kg packs for perfume, cosmetic, soap, candle and aromatherapy brands. Every size comes from the same batch process at our facility in Nimbri, Panipat, so a brand can test a small bottle first and then reorder in bulk with a consistent aroma. For quantities above 25 kg, regular monthly supply or private label orders, write to info@rvorganica.com or call +91 8937003005.
Orders are packed in sealed containers and dispatched from Nimbri, Panipat, Haryana, and shipped across India, with free delivery on orders above ₹999; we also export to overseas buyers. Each batch is checked before dispatch, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are available for every batch, which most brands need for their records and compliance. Dilute it before skin use and patch test first; like other cold pressed citrus oils it oxidises over time, so keep it tightly sealed, cool and away from light.
