It dissolves in alcohol and fixed (carrier) oils and does not dissolve in water, and it keeps for 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored sealed in a cool, dark place. Its main constituents typically include trans-cinnamaldehyde (75 to 90%), with smaller amounts of o-methoxycinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate and β-caryophyllene. CAS number: 8007-80-5.
