The Diwali Grand Hamper is a buy-together perfume and attar combo made in India by RV Organica at our facility in Nimbri, Panipat, Haryana. The three eau de parfums have a 20 percent fragrance concentration and are sprayed from glass bottles with atomizers. The three attars come in 12 ml glass bottles, and two of them are steam distilled from Rosa damascena and Santalum album.

What does each perfume in the Diwali Grand Hamper smell like?

Element One is a clean, fresh scent with top notes of lemon, bergamot, mandarin, cardamom and pineapple, a heart of lily, jasmine, violet, rose and orris, and a base of musk, cedar, sandalwood, amber and moss.

Savage is bold, spicy and woody, with bergamot and pepper on top, a heart of lavender, pink pepper, patchouli, geranium and elemi, and a base of cedar, amber and labdanum.

BR 540 is a warm, luxurious amber-woody scent, with an ambery citrus opening, an airy and sweet musk heart and warm, earthy woods underneath.

What do the three attars smell like and how are they made?

Rose Attar is a rich, sweet, deeply floral oil steam distilled from Rosa damascena flowers, with citronellol, geraniol and nerol among its main constituents. Sandalwood Attar is a warm, creamy, woody chandan oil steam distilled from the heartwood of Santalum album by the traditional deg-bhapka method, rich in alpha-santalol and beta-santalol.

Bombay Oudh Attar is a different kind of product, and we want to be clear about it. It is an oud-style fragrance blended in an oil base, filtered and matured, not an attar distilled from agarwood. It has the smoky, balsamic, woody depth people look for in oud, at a very different cost. All three attars are alcohol-free.

How do you layer attars and perfumes?

Dab one or two drops of attar on your pulse points: the wrists, the neck and behind the ears. Let it settle for a minute, then spray the perfume from about 15 cm away over the same spots. The oil base of the attar helps the perfume sit closer to the skin, and many people find the scent lasts longer this way. Good starting pairs are Sandalwood Attar under Element One, Rose Attar under BR 540 and Bombay Oudh Attar under Savage.

The perfumes have specific gravities between 0.885 and 0.940 and a flash point of 20 to 30°C. Rose Attar has a specific gravity of 0.848 to 0.880, FEMA number 2989, CAS number 8007-01-0 and a flash point of 65 to 68°C. Sandalwood Attar has a specific gravity of 0.975, FEMA number 3005, CAS number 8006-87-9 and a flash point above 100°C. Bombay Oudh Attar is an oily, amber to dark brown liquid with a flash point above 93°C. A COA and MSDS can be requested.

How should you store the Diwali Grand Hamper?

Keep the bottles closed, upright and away from direct sunlight, heat and humid bathrooms. Close the atomizer cap after each spray.

Is the Diwali Grand Hamper safe to use?

All six products are for external use only. Patch test on the inner forearm first, avoid the eyes and broken skin, and stop use if irritation appears. The perfumes are alcohol-based and flammable, so spray them away from diyas, candles, flames and heat, and let them dry before going near a flame. Keep all bottles out of reach of children.
