Kesar Chandan Fragrance Oil
Saffron and sandalwood have been paired in Indian perfumery for centuries, and this blend explains why the combination has never gone out of fashion. Kesar (saffron) opens the fragrance with a warm, honeyed spice note, while chandan (sandalwood) settles underneath as a smooth, creamy, slightly milky base. Together they create a scent that feels royal without being overpowering, the kind that fills a room gradually rather than announcing itself at the door. It is one of the most recognisable fragrance pairings in Indian households, carried through generations in incense, attars, and temple offerings, which is part of why it continues to perform so well in modern candle and soap lines.
RV Organica manufactures this fragrance oil in-house at our Panipat facility rather than importing or reselling a third-party blend, which means we control the ratio of saffron to sandalwood notes batch after batch. This is one of our most requested fragrance oils among candle makers and soap artisans working on festive, spiritual, or premium home fragrance lines, largely because the saffron-sandalwood pairing already carries strong recognition and trust with Indian consumers, reducing the education a brand has to do at the point of sale.
Fragrance Notes
The top note is warm saffron threads carrying a faint honeyed sweetness, the kind of opening that reads as expensive rather than sharp. As it settles, a soft floral undertone comes through in the heart, keeping the blend from tipping into heaviness. The base is creamy sandalwood that lingers long after the top notes fade, giving the oil good staying power in both hot-throw applications like candles and cold applications like soap, where fragrance retention through cure time matters.
Best Used For
This oil is formulated for candles, cold-process soap, melt-and-pour soap, incense sticks, and diffuser blends. It performs reliably at standard fragrance load across soy, paraffin, and coconut wax blends, and holds its warmth through a full burn without turning sharp or synthetic-smelling, which is a common failure point with cheaper saffron-sandalwood substitutes. In soap, it blends cleanly at trace without accelerating unpredictably.
Beyond candles and soap, it works well in spiritual and puja-adjacent product lines, meditation room sprays, and festive gifting collections built around Diwali, Navratri, and wedding season, where warm, traditional scent profiles consistently outsell modern or fruity alternatives. It also pairs naturally with rose and oudh in layered perfume or attar blends if you're building a fragrance line rather than a single-note product.
Purity, Certifications & Testing
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheet, so you know the exact composition before it enters your workshop rather than relying on a generic spec sheet. The oil is phthalate-free and vegan, with no added parabens or fillers, manufactured under ISO 9001:2015, FSSAI, GMP, Halal, and Kosher certification at our Panipat facility. These certifications are checked at the batch level, not just at the facility level, which is why COA documentation is tied to individual production runs rather than a single generic document reused across orders.
If you're formulating for export or working with buyers who require documentation upfront, COA and MSDS copies are available on request before you place an order, not just after, so you can verify fit for your market's regulatory requirements ahead of time.
How to Use
For candles, use at 3-6% fragrance load, added at 60-65°C and stirred thoroughly for at least two minutes before pouring to ensure even distribution through the wax. For cold-process soap, use 1-3% of oil weight at trace; go toward the lower end if you're layering with other fragrance oils. For melt-and-pour soap, up to 3% works well when added just before pouring into molds, once the base has cooled slightly to avoid burning off the top notes. For diffusers and room sprays, dilute at 8-10% in a carrier or diffuser base rather than using undiluted.
As with any fragrance oil, run a small test batch in your specific wax, base, or carrier before committing to a full production run, since performance and throw can shift slightly depending on your formulation.
Packaging & Shipping
Retail sizes ship in food-grade, light-resistant aluminium bottles that protect the fragrance profile from UV degradation during transit and storage. Bulk orders from 1kg upward ship in sealed HDPE containers designed for industrial handling. We offer 100 GM, 500 GM, 1 KG, 5 KG, and 10 KG pack sizes to cover everything from first-time testing to full production runs, with leak-tested packaging on every order. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; shelf life runs 12-18 months from the manufacture date when stored correctly.
Why RV Organica
We manufacture directly rather than reselling, which means consistent batch-to-batch quality and pricing that holds up at volume instead of fluctuating with a middleman's margins. MOQ starts at 100g for sampling and testing, with wholesale pricing activating from 1kg onward, so you're not forced into a large minimum order just to evaluate the oil. Whether you're formulating a single candle run or scaling a full product line, the same batch quality and documentation apply across every order size, retail or bulk.
