It is a yellow to golden amber liquid with an intensely sweet, floral, fruity and apricot-like scent. It dissolves in alcohol and fixed (carrier) oils and does not dissolve in water, and it keeps for 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored sealed in a cool, dark place. Its main constituents typically include beta-ionone, alpha-ionone, dihydro-beta-ionone, linalool and geraniol. CAS number: 90045-36-6.
